ISLAMIC YEAR: KANO GOVT DECLARES MONDAY PUBLIC HOLIDAY

 On Thursday 28th of July,Kano State Government announced Monday, August 1, 2022, to be a work-free day to mark the start of the New Islamic (hijrah) 1445 Year.


In a statement signed by Muhammad Garba,the Kano State Commissioner for Information, Governor Abdulahi Ganduje congratuled all Muslims in the state on the spiritual significance on the occasion,which he said ,calls for self-assessment.


 Governor Ganduje called on the Muslim individuals to seek God's forgiveness,and pray for His intervention to rescue the country from the waiting security difficulties and improvement in the overall prosperity and progress of the state and the country in a whole.


He assured people of his administration's preparation to assiduously continue to keep on following through on its promise by working on their expectations for everyday comforts through the people-oriented programmes and projects.


The statement released likewise encouraged those that are yet to get their voter's card to do so as such to have the opportunity to exercise their franchise in the 2023 election 


Muharram,the first lunar month of the New Islamic Year,  begins on Saturday, July 30, 2022.
