ADIJAT WINS NIGERIA FIRST GOLD MEDAL AT COMMONWEALTH GAMES

 OJBSPORT reports that Adijat Adenike Olarinoye,an Osun Indigene just won Nigeria’s first medal at the current Commonwealth Games after emerging gold medalist in the women’s weightlifting competition.


Olarinoye broke two records in 10 minutes lifting 90kg & 92kg before winning the Commonwealth Gold medal.

She lifted 92kg in the snatch and in the clean and jerk, she lifted 111kg for a total of 203kg, which was good enough for gold.

She continued by lifting a total of 203kg in the women’s 55kg weightlifting event, a games record, to win the women’s 55kg Weightlifting event.

India’s Bindyarani Sorokhaibam came second and Fraer Morrow of England came third with bronze medal.
