The wife of the former deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, Beatrice has been granted bail by London court.
While she was granted bail, Ike Ekweremadu who is the Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial district, was denied bail.
Ike is a barrister and former deputy president of the Nigerian Senate and and Beatrice , an accountant, showed up at the Old Bailey on Friday for a bail hearing.
Ekweremadu was charged by the UK Metropolitan Police with scheme to work with the travel of someone else for organ harvesting.
It is claimed Ike Ekweremadu, 60, and Beatrice Ekweremadu, 55, brought the 21-year-elderly person from Nigeria to the UK.
The prosecutor said they intended to have his kidney removed so it very well may be given to their offspring.
"The position is that I have granted bail to Beatrice subject to some fairly stringent conditions but I have refused bail to Ike,” Daily Mail quoted the Common Serjeant of London, judge Richard Marks, to have ruled.
Tim Probert-Wood the prosecutor are not appealing the choice, the court heard.
He said beforehand that the case included 'exploitation and the harvesting of an organ'
"The case started on 5 May 2022 when the complainant introduced himself at Staines Police headquarters and guaranteed he had been shipped to this country with the end goal of his kidney being taken out.
"He showed up on twentieth February 2022 and was taken to Royal Free Medical clinic where tests were done.
"For the reason he was there he didn't agree to the taking of his kidney.
"He got back to the house he was remaining and his treatment changed decisively.
"He depicted being dealt with successfully as a slave."
Unified Realm based specialist was blamed for scheming with Ekweremadu, and his wife to traffic a vagrant into the UK to gather his kidney for their little girl.
The specialist, Obinna Obeta, 50, from Southwark, south London, is charged under the Advanced Subjugation Act.
Obeta, who showed up at Bexley Judges' Court on 13 July, is accused of organizing the movement of 21-year-old Davi Ukpo from Nigeria to the UK.
He is likewise blamed for planning with the legislator to organize or work with the movement of the man with a view to him being exploited through organ harvesting.
